General terms and routes

Territorial continuity refers to the principle and practice of ensuring transportation connections between mainland Italy and its islands.

With the purpose of maintaining economic, social, and cultural integration between the mainland and the islands the government has implemented various measures to promote territorial continuity, including subsidies for transportation costs.

The maximum subsidized rates include VAT and include the airport taxes and charges.

Territorial Continuity a fare includes:

  • One checked-in baggage weighing no more than 23kg.
  • One small bag (40x30x20cm) and one hand luggage (55x40x20cm) in the cabin for a maximum of 10kg for each passenger.
  • Free check-in at the airport.

Online check-in is also available starting with 24 h before departure up to 3 h before departure but the passengers that check-in online will have to go by the check-in desk in the airport to present the documents attesting eligibility.

The routes included in the Territorial continuity program are:

  • Rome (FCO) – Alghero (AHO)
  • Rome (FCO)- Olbia (OLB)
  • Milan Linate (LIN) – Olbia (OLB)

On the above routes the continuity fares are available on both one way or round trip bookings.

An identity document (or certificate of residence) proving the above conditions must be presented at check-in before departure.

If a valid document is not presented, the passenger will have to buy a new ticket at a regular fare to travel.
